Gabby is a very light yellow colored dog. She is actually almost white with just a few darker accents. She also has nice black pigment in her nose and toes. I receive compliments on her looks every time I take her out of the kennel. She is a great looking dog. She weighs about 55 lbs.
Gabby is still a young dog, but her development is far more advanced than can be expected in the normal dog. She has become an unreal pheasant hunter. She torches through cover no matter how thick, and has an excellent nose to back it up. She covers more ground than 2 average hunting dogs. She goes all day, all out 100%. Despite this high drive demeanor while hunting birds she is still very controlled and listens excellent. Gabby also spends some time in the house, so she has the ability to turn the switch on and off.
Gabby has been a natural pointer from an early age. Her point is very intense and she is starting to point birds from quite a distance. She was pointing birds on average 5 - 10 yards away late this season. That was one of her early problems she had such a high prey drive and covered ground so fast she would get to close to birds. This past hunting season has really helped her mature into an awesome gun dog.
Gabby will continue her advanced training work this coming year and will be running for her APR & MPR titles in the future. She is a very bidable dog and picks up on things very quickly. She is currently doing 100 yard blind retrieves 100 – 150 yard marks on land and water.
She achieved her CPR titled at the Okoboji, IA APLA event on 5/30/09
