| APR - CPR Prairie Pts Hunt Em Big Wrigs of Sauk River |
Wrigley is also a TV Star!!! I had the opportunity to guide the boys from Managment Advantage on a snow goose hunt this past spring. Check the show out if you get a chance on the Outdoor Channel the show title is "Snow Goose" I believe it is show #6 from this past spring.
Wrigs is a 75 lb black male. He has a very muscular build and a very shiny and gorgeous coat. Wrigley has the perfect lab temperament and will lie around the house all day long, yet is all business in the field. He is very calm mannered in the house also and has free run all day long. Wrigs is out of some of the best natural pointing lab lines available. His pointing instincts have been evident since the day we received him, and his retrieving desire was incredibly has a young puppy also. Both these traits have continued to develop and become stronger the older he has gotten.
Wrigs is turning into one of those once in a lifetime dogs. When out in the field with Wrigley he is extremely focused and has high desire to please. He is force fetched, collar conditioned, and whistle trained. He can currently run 100 – 150 yard single, double, & triple marks on the land and consistently steps on the marks. He can also do 100-150 yard blind retrieves consistently in all types of terrain.
He has a huge water entry which was exhibited at a very young age and it has only gotten bigger the older he has gotten. In the water he can currently do about the same as on the land, he consistently does 100 – 150 yard single, double, and triple marks with no problem. He also does blind water retrieves extremely well. He saved me many miles of trekking through the marsh this fall on some wounded ducks that we probably would have never gotten without him.
Wrigs has continued to grow in the upland field. He covers the field very thoroughly and has really figured the hunting game out. His point in unmistakable, he is pointing at further and further distances the more times he is out in the field. He consistently is pointing wild birds at around 10-15 yards(depending upon the birds & conditions) Wrigs holds his points for as long as required and most times I just allow him to stay on point and test how long he can hold it before he or I flush the bird. I have seen him point a couple of birds for over a minute or two and it would have probably been longer if I would not have released him.
