Moxie is a gorgeous 55 lb lab, she is still growing but I think she will finish at around 60-65 lbs. She has a perfect lab build with a smaller frame but has a nice blocky conformation. She will turn one year in November. She is really starting to come into her own during training sessions and I am excited to see how she transitions to the actual hunting field this coming fall. Moxie is a high energy pup that loves to work & train.
Moxie is a great marking dog for her age. She has been since she was a young puppy and is currently doing 50 -75 yard marked single & double retrieves on the land and water. Her retrieving desire is unbelievable and she will run marks all day long. She is very intelligent for her age.
Moxie also has good pointing instincts. He point has become more and more staunch with the more birds that I have put her on over the summer. Her only downfall at this point is she likes to crowd the planted birds we have been putting out for her. I think a fall of chasing wild roosters will teach her that she cant get that close to the birds. She has a good nose and typically will hit the scent cone at 10 - 15 yards from the birds, just has not quite figured out to trust her nose yet.
Moxie is finished with Force Fetch and to this point she is the easiest dog I have ever forced. I am currently working on her casting training. Moxie will be ready to run CPR this coming spring and possibly APR if her training continues at her current rate.
